The Great Lakes Boat Building School has announced that qualified Michigan Works! applicants can now apply for enrollment in its full-time nine month vocational program in northern Michigan. The GLBBS is the only licensed boat building school in the state and is offering an in-depth boat building program. Courses in lofting, design theory, woodworking, joinery, repair, restoration and both traditional and modern boat building are taught by master boat builder and educator Patrick Mahon and guest instructors at the school’s new 12,000 square foot Cedarville, Michigan facility. Graduates will have the necessary skills to pursue entry level employment in the boat building and repair industries.
